The intention with a long depth of field would be to have the entire subject matter from the foreground leaves to the dog walkers in the background be in that acceptable range of focus.
I like this one as well. If the focal point of the stick were up in the upper third it would allow my eye to follow the curve of the branch longer but nice photo.
The focus is a little soft, but nice composition.
