Nice image. A little underexposed, but that was not the lesson on Friday. I might have moved the stem to the left third in order to allow maximum blurred yellow background under and to the right of the right-side leaf.

Nice composition of Willa in the left third. I also like that you gave left the empty space on the side of the direction she is looking.

Good use of thirds. I also like the balance of color in the bottom left contrasted with the relative lack of yellow in the top right.

Another nice image. My eye wants to see a bit more of the abstract leaves and sky to the left. The aspen tree is such a simple and stark image that the confusing mass of yellow leaves and branches on the right bothers me a bit.

Imogn, I really like this image. I think it draws the viewer into some unknown story. What is going on here. Did the person (a female perhaps) throw the leaves into the water? Is she just looking at them. The borders of the person's leg, rocks in the foreground, and dark bank in the background server to create an "image within an image." This is my favorite shot of your series. -Matt-

Nice narrow depth of field, but the top horse's head is cropped out. My eye wants it shifted lower into the frame. I understand this may be difficult depending on how you can lift your perspective...

I like the perspective of the horse looking down on your. Good narrow depth of field.

You have a good narrow depth of field here, BUT it is almost too narrow because the tip of the ear hair is our of focus. You can address this by closing down the aperture a bit. I feel like I want to see more of the black hair in the lower left. Finally, if you were thinking about all elements and the horse was not moving too much you could shift your perspective to that the horse in the background was centered between the ears...

This is a big exposure challenge, but we will talk about that later in the course. If you were going for a silhouette, I would have shifted the horse into either third of the frame.

I like this shot of the girls on the hay bale. The obvious lines of the siding give you immediate feedback if you are holding the camera level. This is more challenging than you might think. Shooting at the ocean trains you to keep the camera level as it is easy to tilt one way or the other and then it looks like the ocean is going to pour out of one side of the camera. Cropping in photoshop will take care of this.

Sunstars can throw your camera for a loop regarding the proper exposure so using the histogram will help. Otherwise, the composition might work better with the sunstar off center.

Nice image. I might try to crop the dark tree in the top right side of the image and/or include some of the ground in a vertical composition that will really show your grasp of a long depth of field.

This is a nice example of a narrow depth of field (F 4.5) but I want to see the entire bridge rail in focus (F22 and set your focal point 1/3 of the way down the rail).

Nice broad depth of field. I might crop out the dark tree trunk on the left and include the complete arc of the bridge along the top edge.

This is a better depth of field example. Do you know what your F-stop was on this image? Ideally you would set your focus just in front of the mushroom if you wanted to include the background elements...

Good depth of field. It feels a little river/reflection heavy on the bottom. Perhaps the composition could shift up a bit.

I like this image as it is, how would it look shot at a small aperture (F22 or higher) to create a broader depth of field.
